Should You Use Temp Mail for Government Services?

A temporary address is a poor choice for government services that involve applications, official correspondence, or identity-linked accounts.

The service may send submission acknowledgments, requests for additional documents, appointment information, or a final decision. These communications may arrive long after the initial registration.

Read the service’s contact requirements carefully. Some applications require an address where you can reliably receive official notices, and an expiring inbox may not meet that requirement.

Use a lasting address under your control and retain application reference numbers independently. Check the inbox regularly while an application is pending.

If you entered the wrong address or no longer control it, use the agency’s official contact or account-update process. Avoid creating duplicate applications merely to change an email address unless the agency instructs you to do so.
