Can You Use Temp Mail for Public Wi-Fi Registration?

A temporary email address may be useful when a public Wi-Fi network asks for an email before providing internet access. Whether it works depends on the network’s registration requirements and whether disposable addresses are accepted.

Before entering an address, check the network name and confirm that it belongs to the venue. A convincing registration page does not necessarily prove that a hotspot is legitimate.

If the network sends an activation link, you must be able to access your temporary inbox before completing registration. This can be inconvenient if you have no other internet connection.

Also consider whether you need continuing access. A hotel, university, or workplace network may associate your email with a longer-term account.

Temporary email only changes the address you provide. It does not encrypt your internet traffic or make an unfamiliar Wi-Fi network trustworthy. Use the network according to its rules and choose a lasting address when ongoing access matters.
